Privacy Policy

Ester: Dose & Lab Tracker · Effective June 10, 2026

Ester stores all of your data on your device. There is no account to create, no server receiving your information, and no copy of your data anywhere but in your hands. We built it this way on purpose: we cannot access, hand over, lose, or sell what we never have.

The short version

Question Answer
Where does my data live? On your device only.
Do you collect any data? No. Our App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”
Analytics or tracking? None. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs.
Can you see my entries? No. We have no technical ability to access them.
How do I delete everything? Delete the app. That removes all of it.

What we collect

Nothing. Ester has no backend, no user accounts, and no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Your medication schedule, dose log, lab results, notes, and settings are written to local storage on your device and never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Apple's App Store privacy label for Ester reflects this: Data Not Collected.

Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to disclose in response to a legal request, nothing for us to sell or share, and nothing for an attacker to take from a server — there is no server.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Ester can optionally read your weight history from Apple Health so it appears alongside your tracked data. This happens only if you explicitly grant permission, and you can revoke that permission at any time in iOS Settings. Health data read by Ester stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

As Apple requires — and as we affirm — HealthKit data is never used for advertising or other use-based data mining, and is never shared with or sold to third parties.

Progress photos

If you choose to add progress photos, they are stored in the app's protected on-device storage. They are not uploaded, synced to our servers (we have none), or shared with anyone.

Notifications

Reminders are generated locally on your device by iOS. No notification content or scheduling data leaves your device, and we do not operate a push-notification service.

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. Apple handles billing and payment; we never receive your payment details, name, email address, or any other personal information from a purchase.

Face ID

If you enable the app lock, authentication is performed by iOS using Face ID (or your device passcode). Biometric data is handled by Apple's secure system frameworks and never reaches the app — Ester only learns whether authentication succeeded.

Deleting and exporting your data

Deletion: because everything lives on your device, deleting the app deletes all of your Ester data.

Export: you can export your data from within the app at any time. Export is entirely user-initiated and user-controlled — the file goes only where you send it.

Children

Ester is not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly serve users under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Ester handles data, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above. Because the app's architecture is local-only, any material change — such as adding an optional sync feature — would be clearly disclosed and would require your explicit opt-in.
